You'll collect keys, bed linens, and towels in Breskens, about 10 minutes away by car. Check-in is flexible and uncomplicated, and you'll return them there at checkout (10am Sunday departure can feel early for some). The upside: you get to see the charming harbor area in Breskens during pickup.

The garden is a major highlightu2014huge, beautifully maintained, and directly on a small canal with a private jetty. There's a kayak available for paddling, and guests love watching sunrises and sunsets over the fields. Garden chairs are stored in the shed, though some guests noted outdoor furniture could be more plentiful for larger groups.

The beautiful beach area at Cadzand is only about 20 minutes away by car. The location is also great for day trips to Middelburg, Ghent, and surrounding towns with good shopping facilities.

The staircase to the upstairs bedrooms is quite steep (typical for old Dutch houses), and ceilings upstairs are low, so taller guests should watch their heads. The upstairs shower has had ongoing maintenance issues, so you may need to use the downstairs bathroom. Some guests found the mattresses worn and uncomfortable.

The house sleeps 8 across four bedrooms, but some bedrooms are quite small, and the dining table can feel cramped for 8 people. It works well for families or smaller groups. The kitchen is exceptionally well-stocked with plenty of crockery and equipment for cooking.
